Roberto Clemento. Born the youngest of seven children in Puerto Rico, in 1934, he would become one of the best baseball players in history. At 17, he began his career in the Puerto Rico Professional Baseball League and a year later he moved to the United States to join the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was an exceptional athlete, with a powerful throwing arm. He won two World Series with the Pirates and became a 12-time winner of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award, before reaching 3,000 hits, the last of his career in September 1972, making him the first Latin American player to reach the mark.
For someone so extraordinary and to reflect the work of such a special foundation, Oris has created the Roberto Clemente Limited Edition. Appropriately, this watch is based on an iconic Oris, the Big Crown Pointer Date. The black and gold details are inspired by Roberto's uniform, while the light brown strap with its double stitches reflects the aesthetics of a baseball glove. The presentation is completed by Roberto's image engraved on the back of the box, as well as his own limited edition number.
